Colleges

  • Sports tournaments, soccer, dodgeball, volleyball, corn hole, ping pong
  • Put on a concert: “Battle of the Bands” with local bands and charge an entry fee
  • Trivia Night (partner with a local pub)
  • Comedy Night
  • Tailgating sports event

Kids/Family/School

  • Bake sale
  • Host a scavenger hunt
  • Restaurant night and raffle off donated gift items
  • 50/50 raffle
  • Teacher in Jail: classes pay a certain amount to throw their teacher in “jail.” In reality, the students  just get a free class period and the teacher gets an extra planning period to catch up on grading and other assignments. A class of 20 students might have to contribute $60 while a larger class of 30 students may need to give $100. Establish rates that you feel students would go for (and that they can afford!).

Churches

  • Community Meals board: put little food pictures in a basket next to the donation box, board is an empty grid with a little Velcro circle in each square.  Donor puts their money in the donation bowl, picks out the corresponding food picture, and puts the picture up on the board.
  • Envelope fundraiser: all you need are envelopes and a bulletin board. Passersby simply choose an envelope and donate however much is on the front of the envelope
  • Used Book sale
