65% of large companies in the U.S. match employee donations.

Did you know that you can double your donation if your employer provides matching gifts? Your $500 gift can easily turn into a $1000 with a match from your company!

Companies with matching gift programs will cut a check to a nonprofit after an employee has made a donation and submitted the appropriate paperwork. This paperwork is usually found online via the company’s intranet, in an employee handbook, or in an HR resource.

Common deadlines include:

    • By the end of the calendar year.
    • 1-2 months after the start of the new year.
  • 3, 6, 9, or 12 months after the donation date.

Whatever the deadline may be, employees can typically submit their electronic or paper requests for any charitable contributions that they have made within that specific time frame.
